WIDE-LEG PANTS pattern

This pattern was made in collaboration with Peppermint Magazine for Issue 38 of the magazine.

Garment details

The Wide Leg Pant is a high waisted pant with fly front and button closure, shaped waistband, back darts and curved front pockets. The pants are drafted to be fitted around the waist and hips, before dropping into a wide legged, slightly cropped pant.

Difficulty

This pattern is designed for intermediate makers (or brave advanced beginners).

By working through this pattern, you will gain confidence in:

  • Sewing a zip fly front

  • Sewing pockets

  • Sewing a shaped waistband.

Suggested Fabrics

The Wide Leg Pant is compatible with medium to heavy bottom weight fabrics with no stretch. Consider using: cotton twill, linen, corduroy or denim

Notions

  • Coordinating thread

  • 1 x 24mm (7/8in) Button

  • 18cm (7in) standard zip (trouser or dress zip)

  • Mid weight iron on fusing for the waistband (if your fabric requires it) - approximately 30cm (0.5yds)

Sizing

The pattern is available in 10 sizes (approximately AU size 6 - 24) and comes as a layered PDF so you can just print the size that you need. More details about In the Folds sizing can be found here.

Digital product details

The pattern is suitable for printing on both A4 and US letter sized paper. A copy shop version is also included in the file.

Print at home pattern: 32 pages
