I thought some of you might be interested in how to remove the box pleat from the Flynn jacket View A (sleeve version), and have it have a flat back like View B (sleeveless version). This is a really quick alteration to make and won’t take you longer than a couple of minutes.
Take the BACK and mark a vertical line down through the pattern - starting at the notch on the neckline that indicates the pleat stitch line - and drawing to the bottom of the pattern piece (through the drill hole marking). Be sure to keep the line parallel to the centre back.
A - Cut along the line marked in STEP 1 to remove the pleat.
B - You will now be able to use the BACK HEM FACING from View B. All you need to do is transfer the notch on to the top edge of the BACK HEM FACING to the bottom edge of the BACK . For more details on transferring notches - check out this post.
