Tell us a bit about yourself: I have only been sewing for a few months but absolutely love it! I took it up as a hobby during lockdown and did not expect to love it as much as I do! I have recently graduated from university so needed a new challenge and sewing was just perfect!
What In the Folds size do you wear? Size A, Size C
Which pattern did you use? Peppermint wide leg pants
What type of fabric did you make the garment/s from? Blue pinstripe polyester (had it in the back of my fabric stash!) Thrifted Curtains!
What alterations (if any) did you make to the pattern? I only had to make 1 or 2 changes to this pattern, one was grading from the hips to the waist so it suited my figure; and then the second change was making the waistband pieces longer as for some reason they were always too short! But adding a few extra inches to make them perfect was no issue!
(For anyone reading this, check out this post if you’ve had this issue with the waistband on this pattern, you may have tried sewing it on upside down!)
If you made this pattern again, would you do anything differently?: I have had the idea of making them a little bit thinner in the leg and longer as well.
What would be your top tip for other makers using this pattern? Definitely take care on the waistband, I started by sewing it upside down because you actually sew the longer curved edge to the top of the trousers to the curve is actually going to opposite to what you'd think!
I'd love to hear about a happy memory from when you made or wore this garment or garments! I wore them for a job interview and got the job! They're my lucky pants now!!
